BCM5880?

Benjamin Henrion
Hi,

I own a Dell E4200 laptop with a BCM5880 smart card reader.

I have read here that it might be supported by adding some firmware:

http://www.mail-archive.com/muscle@.../msg07952.html

I have downloaded this EXE:

http://ftp.dell.com/Control%20Point/dell_controlvault_a08_r214858.exe

Which unzips files:

patents in Europe, the patent establishment changed its strategy.
Instead of explicitly seeking to sanction the patentability of
software, they are now seeking to create a central European patent
court, which would establish and enforce patentability rules in their
favor, without any possibility of correction by competing courts or
democratically elected legislators."

You need to update the firmware, there is a README in the package, so
please follow that.
