  How can I change that?
Only Siemens CardOS API software?
Is there a trial or something like that?

Sorry, I cannot guide you how to use cardos-tool. At first, you should
try to use pkcs15 tools.

Personally, I recommend reading our Smartcard quickstarter guide online:
http://www.gooze.eu/howto/smartcard-quickstarter-guide

or download it as a PDF:
http://www.gooze.eu/printpdf/book/export/html/36

Tell us if it works with your Siemens card.

Kind regards,

  Hi,

The  problem is that the card is in manufacturing mode, and as I see the
only way to initialize it is with CardOS API sotfware, and I can't find
an alternative or trial version.

Thanks.

Hi Fernando,

Your card is in manufacturing state, and the StartKey is at a secret value. There is an APDU in the Siemens documentation for CardOS 4.3B to change this secret (called Factory StartKey) to a Default one (16 * 0xFF). Then you can create a 3F00 MF on it and only then start to play with pkcs15-init commands.

All this process was already discussed many times on opensc-user mailing list. The problem is that those APDU are documented only in Siemens docs which is only available under NDA!

Please contact cryptoshop for further help.

Cheers,

Jean-Pierre

What could be the best question for this (for the FAQ [1])? Or can you transform it to a FAQ entry yourself?

Jean-Pierre,

It was my mistake, when I bought it, I should tell them that I don't have CardOS API software and I need that they send me a rekeyed card to use the card.

Thanks.
